Oil preasure ?

Afternoon,

Either I've just started to notice the light on start up or somethings about to go wrong,

Got a 300 96 xs thats had an engine change in the past,

Slightly concerned/bemused that the oil light has started to come on at start up (before turn over) and then goes out after start up,

Thinking that a connection has awakened for the first time since I;ve had it !

Ideas ?

Should say first thing I did was check the amount of oil in the sump !

I think that is normal isnt it? On more modern cars the lamp comes on with ignition on and will then go out. Could be wrong mind.

No, you are spot on.

If the light comes on when the engine is running then that's a sign something is wrong.

Perfectly normal.

Start to worry when the oil lamp.....

comes on when driving
Comes on when idling
does not go out after start up
does not come on before start up.

Ok good, It had never come on before hence why I was shocked lol

Bits of it are coming back to life now that its my daily drive !

Glad to here is it ok! I get so worried when there is the slightest difference in my car and 9 times out of 10 everything is fine!
