TDI 300 First i spotted small patches of oil under neath at first it seemed to be on the near side, looked like it was coming from the braided hose cos it seemed a bit oily , but then started to hear werring noise when turning the steering wheel, could i be loosing power steering fluid or could it be the gearbox oil ? oh by the way nice to be back on in a way just had about 8 months of trouble free running not bad for a disco
thanks

sorry lads for not responding pc problems back again now though , checked the power steering fluid and it was well down topped it up and the noise has gone ,but now need to find the leak , if parts are needed like new pipe etc ,i take it some sort of bleeding process will be needed
how?
thanks

I "think" they self bleed.. but as I gave up trying to get my pas box off and took it to the garage I am only going from memory of reading the rave...

you'r gonna need tools though... evey single part of the pas system on mine was rock solid.. nothing would move - hence me giving up and taking it to the garage...

could be an 'ose but equally could be the very common seals gone in the steering box, worth checking there too.

If it is seals you av the age old conumdrum of 'do i replace seals and risk em going again after 6 weeks' or get a new / recon box  Gettin the drop arm of is a right pain in the arse if ya doing it yourself anorl.
