Picked my 90 up from local workshop today after having igniton switch changed and trailer electrics installed. Drove it home (less than a mile) and it was fine. Went to to me martial arts class as usual (bout 10 miles there) and just as I was pulling into the car park, I notice the oil light is on. It went out when I increased the revs a bit. After the hour had passed, the I checked the oil and it was fine.

Drove it home and the light remained on. Kept it at a steady 45-50 just in case it was something serious. No issues or dodgy noises on the way back. Don't know if it was just me but it also seemed the RMP required for the light to go out was more.

Hope this is nothing serious, it's supposed to be in a car show this weekend :(

The reliable one is throwing a wobbler!

Any suggestions please? It's back at the workshop tomorrow to have the leccy finished on the tow socket so will ask him to check oil pressure too.

Sender perhaps or switch? Hope it's nothing that will stop me from using it this weekend, it's been planned for a while. Thanks

Could be the sender - I had one go on my RRC when I was picking up my 90.
I ended up puling the sender out of the 90 (that was on the trailer) and putting it in the RRC!

Has the sender got wet, or has the engine been steam cleaned?

It was the hot water from the boiling over header tank that buggered mine!

It also gave intermittent warnings too...

When my sender went, it started where the light would flicker at idle, then it would come on steady at idle, then on below 1000 RPM, on below 2000 and so on until within several days, it was on constantly.

This was regardless of actual oil pressure, which was always correct (I have a gauge). So as others have said, get pressure checked or even better fit an oil pressure gauge before worrying about it.
