When my engine has warmed up and I drop below 1000 (basically when I idle) the oil light comes on, as I accelerate the light fades. I presume this is a pump issue. What should I hit with a hammer? :D

Sorry for the bulk of questions tonight, but many many miles over the Xmas period have created many confusions.

All the best for 2007, here's hoping we all spend less (un-needed) time fixing our landies and more time enjoying them thanks to this rather splendid forum!

hi chap
i had the same oil light problem a couple of years ago, just changed the pressure sender . oil had worked its way into plastic casing causing it to short
no problems since. have a look if the white part of the sender is, internally blackened by oil
all the best, hope i have been of any help

;)

Could be the sender as stated, or could be a oil pump prob, when the oil heats it becomes thinner and if the pump is worn, will cause the oil to go where it should not rather than out the other side and through the engine.

change the oil pressure switch first, if it's still the same, you'll need to check the oil pressure and go from there.
