Howdy. Completely new to cars in general. Bought a Freelancer 2 2007 in February and just noticed oils leaking under the front of the car.

The car seems to run fine but obviously concerned about this. Any advice on what this could be and what to get fixed.

Well on my 2011 sd4 it would probably be the big pipe (from the turbo? anyway a big plastic pipe) in the front that goes down the front of the engine, the jubilee clips don't always seal the pipe properly so take off the pipe clean it up, make sure it isn't damage, it can split, put back with new jubilee clips.

What colour is the oil?
Where abouts is it leaking, front of engine, back of engine, any side in particular?

If you have a 13mm spanner or socket, then the under shield comes off easily, being secured my just 6 bolts. Removing the under shield is the best way to identify the location of the leak.

Common leak points are the sump (rusts through), cam and crank seals, and the crankcase breather pipes.
