I suspect the turbo is gradually messing oil, see pic attached. The rest of the engine is very clean and cannot see any oil related issues elsewhere.

Is this a serious issue? I have read that it could possibly be down to the crank case filter being clogged. I have ordered the newer recommended cyclone(?) filter and a full service kit so hopefully that will resolve the issue.

Hi, have you removed the hose that goes from the turbo up to the air filter housing ? If not it's worth having a look to see if there's much oil in there, if there is have a look at the intercooler hoses & if there's oil in them (which there probably will be) then I would remove the intercooler flush it out with petrol & clean all the hoses with it. There is a metal pipe that goes around the back of the engine which one of the intercooler hoses connects to, this is a pain to remove so you just have to wipe it out as best you can (I clean/flush my intercooler about every 20,000 miles as they always collet a certain amount of oil especially if the EGR valve hasn't been deleted).
On another note I lived next door to a someone who originated from St.Helena ,Walter Yon & sadly passed but his wife still lives in the same house I know it's a long shot but it's a small world & wondered if you know of the family name ?
All the best in getting the FL sorted (mines an 04 facelift as well)
