Afternoon everyone, have a bit of a leak :/ Parked me landy up for a few weeks and then my step dad pointed out a leak, it was dripping from the side of the drum (inside) So I've taken the drum off and it looks a little like this

Not looking too clean haha. Seams to be coming from the centre at the back, this just a seal? Easy to fix. Cheers in advance

It looks like the oil seal in the hub. not a nightmare to fix - it's a pretty simple fix once you have the hub off (which is not a terribly hard thing to do). You pull the drive flange and the attached halfshaft, then undo the bendy washer and nuts, and the whole hub will come off.

Before you disassemble it check the play in the wheel bearings - if you have a lot of play this could ahve caused the seal to fail.

Do plan to clean and relubricate the wheel bearings while you're in therer - cheap and simple thing to do, and well worth the effort.

If the shoes are well and truly soaked I'd consider replacing them - you can clean them up but i've never been sanguine about that myself.

That sounds easy enough, thanks a lot. I planned to swap for a disco axle with discs but I was speaking to someone the other day, he said he wouldn't bother? I thought it was a no brainer
