Just had my 90 TD5 through its MoT test, successfully. One of the observations that were made was that there was an oil leak from the "fuel block" (testers words).
I didn't fully understand this so asked for clarification. Did they mean a fuel leak? No, an oil leak. Where is this "fuel block" located? Engine o/s, back of engine near the head. No more details forthcoming.
I guess the "fuel block" is the Fuel Pressure Regulator - unless you good folks out there know better.......
Does the Fuel Pressure Regulator have oil flowing through it from the head?
Your views and advice will be greatly appreciated.

The fuel pressure regulator only has fuel running through it, and I would imagine that to get oil to come out of it, you would have major engine problems.

This is one of the most common faults on the TD5.

You may have an oil leak from your rocker cover at the rear, which may leak down past the FPR.

If you take the acoustic cover off the top, you can have a look down there.

Del.

Thanks 50 pence. I've never had the FPR off the engine, so it's always good to have the benefit of the knowledge and experience of good folk as yourself. I'll take a closer look at the head and cover now.
