Oil filter

Changed it last week, what a pia. the last three times I.ve changed it ,I,ve nearly dropped the one thats coming off, all covered in oil, from above and below. If only that diff wasnt in the way.
Wonder how many people have dropped it and got oil everwhere.

I always undo one turn and leave to drain, wrap a cloth around the filter and remove. I learned by my mistake many years ago.

i 'crack' mine to loosen the thread...then put a poly bag under it...unscrew and all the mess/filter goes into the bag.......couldnt be cleaner

I do similar but with an ice cream tub, works really well and no oil on yours truly.

did mine on sunday, previous nob who serviced it tightened the filter up with a chain wrench, could see the marks on it. Ended up tearing it in half trying to get it off and got covered.

I stabbed the oil filter with screw driver and let it drain into oil tub for 10 min and then just unscrew it

did mine last week, just unscrewed it and got oil on me hands and clothes. cant understand whats up with some of you ? you drive a ruffty tuffty land rover that gets coverd in mud and crap and your worring about a bit of black oil on ya lilly white skin and calven klein jumper ! TUT pwefffffffffff some people ! heheheh
