what part of the oil cooler do i replace if i keep getting oil in the coolant, and before you say its head gasket, i would like to try oil cooler first as a cheaper option then wel see.

i know me a dumbass.

what i was trying to say is, whenever i search for oil cooler i keeps getting different things come up i thought there mite be different parts, anyone know of a part number for the td4 oil cooler?

just remove the coolant hoses from the oil cooler and join together with a pipe.as long as you dont thrash the engine it will give you time to elimanate the oil cooler.cleaning out all the oil from the cooling system is near impossible but keep an eye on oil level,try and flush the oil cooler out and keep checking for signs of oil coming out of the cooler pipe connections.:)

Is the oil cooler seperate from the radiator or is all in one?
 
oil cooler is seperate to radiator - it looks like a small aluminium lunch box just behind radiator - shop around, get them cheaper than £500..make sure you give it a good flush after and replace with oat not glycol antifreeze. My mates TD4 had the same problem.
