Ive just got a phone call from my 71 year old Mum who says her 97 P38D "hasnt got any power".
She said "I was driving home from Diedres, (or whatever her mate's called) about 20 miles away and the temperature guage shot up into the red" im praying she stopped driving at the point but, oh no, she says it was OK because, and I quote, "after a few miles the temperature guage dropped down to nothing, so now its running much cooler than she has ever known it to"........... "FFS", I said .................
So, a head gasket replacement is now on the cards. Never done one on the m51, I have a RAVE here but I note some special tools are required. Admittedly I havent looked too closely at what those tools are for but before I go buying expensive enough kit that I will only use in a blue moon can any of these bits be improvised?
Also, I can do 300tdi heads in my sleep..... Is the M51 much more challenging?
