Hello All!
I just signed up today, but I've been looking at the advice in the forum's for a while. Although I live in London, my girlfriend and I volunteer for the Woodcraft Folk, and often take the kids in the group on camping trips etc, and so justified getting a 4x4 and wouldn't settle for anything less than a Landrover. Although the Defender 90 is the dreamobile I am working my way up to, we had to settle on a 53 reg Freelander 1 due to cost and immediately replaced the head gasket, VCU and cam belt!

Well we're off to Wales via Bristol this weekend, and looking to take the car off-road. I'm aware its been pouring down the last few weeks, so looking for some advice...are there any stable / shingle type green lanes in mid wales someone could point us to? Or pay and play locations? Can anyone make any recommendations?

Also we've got road tyres... please let me know if you think that might be a problem!

Thanks, EDN

Welcome to the forum.
There are quite a few farmers tracks but the last time I went there was a lot of wash out due to the rain, also if you've never been green laning and have only got road tyres I'd probably be very of recommending any lanes to you cos it's just asking for trouble without seeing them for myself.
There is a pay and play site at both Bala and Fairbourne over by the coast
