Odd Vibration above 30mph

New issue today! Or maybe i'm just being paranoid.

Good news is the horrible noise from the handbrake has gone, but now above 30ish i've got a strange vibration/feedback.

Isnt there when its rolling/coasting so not the tires/hubs/etc... Though is there when I put my foot down, so much so that I can see my wing mirror vibrating well more than it should in a Fender! Also when revving the engine it sounds dirty and hoarse, again well more than it should in a Fender!

Might be my imagination but it seems a little down on power above 3rd.

Havnt really checked anything yet, though the engine oil is a little low and needs topping up.

Probably me just being paranoid but thought I best check with the LZ Gurus :D

I'd guess a propshaft universal joint, especially as it seems to be worse when you've got the accelerator pressed.
 
Was checking the handbrake drum, 3 nuts went back on though one was rounded havnt had a chance to get a new one.

Doesnt vibrate when revved, im going to guess it is the rear prop...
 
sounds basic but what about fuel filter? known it to cause similar problems with power and vibration , especially as it doesn't happen when coasting? the prop would still be turning when coasting?
 
Fuel filter was changed recently. Diff oils should be fine but ill check em.

Main thing is it only happens when putting my foot down, if i back off the throttle a little it goes. Put my foot down again and it returns.

Does not happen with coasting/rolling nor when still and revving or just running.
 
Sounds like the issue I have but mines above 40.

I'm fairly sure it's down to mine being lifted and an issue with the front prop.
 
That's just what mine did on way back from pay and play Sunday to the letter and it was the rear donut had failed so I'd agree defo a uj or prop issue of some kind.
 
Mines a disco so it has a rubber coupling (donut)to the diff flange instead of a uj. Less harsh but less angles allowed so tears easy on a lifted 300 disco
 
Remove one end of your prop shaft and you will be able to see if you do have a problem with either of the UJ's.

Whilst it is loose you will be able to check the general condition of the spline abd to confirm that there is in-and-out movement.

If there isn't, then that could be contributing to the cause of your problem.
 
When I had the handbrake end off the in and out did seem a little stiff but I assumed that was just how it was meant to be. Not overly difficult to move but stiff none the less. The UJ moved freely no signs of grit or dirt just old grease, though I will check again.
 
Yeah I grease them after every P&P, every service and near enough everytime im under the car for any length of time.

Last time was around 3 weeks ago since then covered around 500 miles.
