So I've read a couple of brake pedal threads with accumulator issues etc but my truck seems to have the opposite symptoms to all mentioned so I'm not actually sure there is an issue and if this pedal feel is normal.

When starting the pump runs if left over night or for long periods.
The brake pedal is quite hard for it's first depression but after that it fine for the rest of the journey. Nice feel and travel and it stops really well. Come back to the car later and the same issue. Pedal is quite hard. Press and release and all returns to normal. Fluid is clean. No leaks from cylinders. I am going to do a flush when I change the discs and pads next month but is there something worth looking at?

Make sure you do your homework when bleeding the brakes, there is a strict routine to follow. Three nipples on the block and one on each wheel!!!!
Good luck finding the problem;)

Hmm might have to make an investment. Got one of those easybleed kits but I’ve been finding the old pedal seems better.

I used to rely on the four pumps and hold the pedal. The wife and kids all helped until I bought the pressure bleeder. Just make sure you refill at half a litre and it sits as flat/level as you can get it. Worth the money;)
