New addition arrives tomorrow…an MOD GS 109 12v, unregistered and in need of tlc…lots of it. Most of the bits I seem to have, though there will be some unforeseen bits, tyres have loads of tread but are perished, rather showing how long it stood about. OK let the questions begin; 1) Where can I get its army history from (now that Beverly is closed)? 2) Approx. when were the last of the S3’s cast? 3) Will it be easy to rig an ordinary light switch’ (the 6 way is seized solid)? 4) How do I explain this one to ‘er indoors’.? All answers and comments appreciated.

Now i've gone and done it!! " You have done it now" Although the 110 first appeared in 1983 series Landys continued to be produced until 1985 to fulfill military and civil contracts. Have Fun.

Sorry to thread jack, but what are those towing eyes on top of the bumper called? I've been looking for something like that but can't find what there called !!! Thanks !

OK, in order:

1. No clue. Would like to know myself as i want to get the history of my 110.
2. Ditto...
3. Yes, you can fit the civilian items (did that on my 110 because I wanted my dashboard back) but it will not be an original fitment. You'll need to suss out the removal/disabling of the convoy lighting relays and then fit the proper switch to the dashboard. What you need to do here is essentially dump the non-civilian-essential settings of the switch and revert to markers, headlights&markers setup. not a nightmare but not a pop&swap.
4. I've owned Rover for two decades and still have not figured that out. 'Er Indoors has never liked my trucks or ridden in them unless it was a D1 or RRC. However, she's more than happy to make me go out in snow storms to take her to and from work... :(
