Hi Folks,

We are now definitely moving the camping part of the weekend experience
to Trefach Country Pub and Camp site. The offroading bit is still at
K-Quads. Trefach promises to be warmer and drier in the event of
inclement conditions....

Amended details here.
http://www.thetaylorfamily.org.uk/unofficial/

I haven't got a price for camping sorted out yet.

The only complication I haven't resolved yet is that the pub is of
course licensed and is not going to be happy about us trying to drink
our own there ! And its Bass or Worthingtons. :-(

Sounds like a good plan, thanks for the time sorting this Steve.

Well done, broke the link from the 101 Club site a treat.
(I've changed it - please don't feck with URLs that people may link
to!)

Snot too much of a issue methinks...

Prolly not in the building due to their 'conditions' - I'd not like to
"see" people drinking alcohol which was not purchased "on" the
premises, as this could give me something of a 'professional' problem
you see...

However, if the weather is clement at all, and we have a 101 sheltered
encampment, we should have no problems drinking our own.

Just one thing, I grew up on Bass and was very nearly born in the
upstairs function room of a Bass house in the East End.
Tastes like p!ss, mind...

Cording to my GPS there is a chap named Gary Evans selling LPG
here....

Lat 51.98105
Lon 4.63992

6.71 miles from base camp :0)

Also maybe on some ones route in at Steve Hughes Car sales Ltd on Pool
Road A489 at Newtown (looks like it may well be a forecourt)

and another just on the A490 south of Welshpool (where the A490 runs
parallel to the A483 southbound).

Ford (west of Shrewsbury) on the 458 BP forecourt.

alternatively North of Welshpool if your not coming via Shrewsbury
then there is a LPG forecourt at Four Crosses (not to be mistaken for
fork candles)

Anyway, with venues settled down, last minute cancellations dealt with,
whatever,

What are we going to do ?

I think we are all less inclined to spend two days at K-Quads, and we
aren't contracted to go there for two days anyway, so whaddya wanna do ?

What are we doing with sprogs. How many sprogs are coming - I know my
two will be more than happy to roll in any mire they can find, but
others may not.

What kind of schedule shall we put together ?

Friday Evening: Meet up at Trefach, Pitch tents, sit in pub, stay warm
Saturday - 9.30am -ish leave for K-Quads.
Saturday Evening, Barbeque at Trefach ?
Sunday: Scenic Drive AROUND Trefach - "Rosebush Road", bits of Presellis
if we can find anywhere that we can get to legally.
Sunday Lunch at Trefach. Break camp.

If we can put names to things to do, like Austin is bringing his
forge/barbecue, Martyn is on cinema (where ?) duty.
I am doing the specialised sweating and worrying duties.

sounds reasonable to me.

If the weather's nice on the Sunday we might wander down to the coast
somewhere. Or, not that far off, you have Llansteffan castle which has both
beach and a castle to climb up and look at.

Most of my knowledge of places to go is more in this area, which is a bit
further north. How far is Trefach from K-quads?

As for Sunday - if there are any mild lanes that can be included it'd be
fun, but not essential - we could just go for a drive in the country. Hmmm.

We wunner be off roading the Disco (Chassis lpg tanks) , the 101 is
looking less likely than ever. Still waiting on parts and no sign of
the tow bar reenforcement. We will however be likely to spectate /
participate in taking the ****.
