in a fit of yet more inexcusable expenditure, i have acquired a pair of the above (off e-bay, for thirty quid :D !!!!), and consequently have a witless query or two:

can they be wired up so the dipped/main beam operates alongside my existing headlights (ie working off the same switch off the stalk) ?

i've had a look at the auxilliary wiring kit on craddocks, which seems to have an independent switch included, indicating that this is the preferred way for 'em to work - that'd be extraordinarily poxy, though, wouldn't it - having to fumble for an extra switch on the dash whenever you wanted to use 'em, ?

the price of the above wiring kit (STC8813AA) was in excess of fifty quid - is there a cheaper alternative available anywhere ?

It's really easy to wire them up.

Mount the lamps making sure they are earthed.

You need to buy a four post relay, an in-line fuse and some wiring heavy enough to handle the draw of the lamps.

Firstly you need to mount the relay between the lamps and the and cars battery. Wire it as follows;
1 wire to earth
2 wire spliced in to the high beam circuit behind one of the headlamps ( this will activate the relay when the high beam is turned on)
3 wire to the spot lamps
4 wire via the in-line fuse direct to the + post of the battery.

The relay instructions will have a diagram and tell you which terminal does what and any car accessory dealer should be able to advise on what you need, it shouldn't cost more than £15 for all the bits.

Οι οδηγίες ηλεκτρονόμων θα έχουν ένα διάγραμμα και να σας πει ποιο τερματικό κάνει τι και οποιοδήποτε αυτοκίνητο ο βοηθητικός έμπορος πρέπει να είναι σε θέση να συμβουλεψει για αυτό που που χρειάζεστε, δεν πρέπει να κοστίσει περισσότερο από £15 για όλα τα κομμάτια.
