Great Brian, glad you are coming :D What sort of tyres you going to get, or am I not allowed to ask in case it becomes a tyre thread :eek:

Well I have a challenge this week, fit my winch bumper. Nrgserv doesn't think I can do it and while he is probably right, I like a challenge :D:D:D:D

There quite simple sue, if anything it will be the bolts that go down through the chassis leg that might be rusted in,

I think one of his points was I cant actually lift it up :confused: However this just requires planning, there will be a way :D:D:D:D

Going to start it today then I have every night this week to finish it :D


Well, 5 minutes in and it has already hurt my wrist and drawn blood on my arm, this is not going to be fun

Difflock survived the last one in a standard Disco, he even enjoyed it :D Have a look at the pics in the newbie laning trip thread.

There are one or two more difficult ones (in my opinion) but they would be easy to go round
 
Disco2TD5 - if you have good spotter(s) then yes a stock Disco will survive. Initially I wasn't going to go down Belford, but what an awesome feeling after I'd done it :D :cool:

If you don't want the bodywork to have ANY scratches from tree branches/brambles etc. then don't go down any overgrown lanes.

One thing I forgot to mention before is that I always seemed to end up a long way behind (Sorry Neil!). I didn't go any faster on the "flat" bits because it felt like the Disco was taking a hammering - is this due to having the stock 18" wheels perhaps??

I did notice!

depends on your definition of taking a hammering really.
next time we're out, i'll ride in with you for a bit, then you can ride with me for a bit.
