Ahhh bollox.

dropped paul off glanced at the temp guage, n it was up at 3/4 summation going on here, rad hoses bottom hot top one bit cooler, so read is doing it's job.
rad was flushed not long ago, has new thermostat. HG?? shall see how it does tomorrow.

usually t'other way round.
top should be hotter as its the input into rad.
bottoms return from rad to engine an should be cooler.

are the heaters blowing hot when set to hot? (ok, as hot as a fender heater can blow!)

Might got it the wrong way round. Yes blower as hot as normal, whacked that on to try n cool it down a bit. Sure the one from the pump side was a tad warmer tho. How do.I check pump flow?

difficult without a lot of ****ing around altering pipework to enable the flow to be seen exiting the pump and entering a funnel to go back into rad.
if the heaters chucking hot air out then a reasonable assumption is the pump is circulating water.
whats the condition of the rad? plenty of cooling fins on outside, not crudded up with debris or mud, and how old is it? older rads have a tendancy to silt up with crud internally restricting flow. feel surface area of rad when engine warm, your looking for cooler / hotter spots. it should be pretty much the same all over.
edit-
also if heaters are ok, then hg is probably ok. when system pressurises due to hgf or head failure, the heater usually fill up with gasses causing cold air when set to hot.
