Anyone know of any off road tracks I can use in these areas? Cant seem to find any on the internet...but i know there are some - as three trail equipped mud splattered landys keep driving past my house!

Asda's car-park can be murder at the weekend :p

Well, I've driven 1 or 2 by following an OS pink map, but a group of us Essex types are meeting-up on Mersea for a jolly jaunt on 13/11/05. Fancy coming along?

Hello james231410,

Not from your area but the best thing to do is buy yourself a O/S Landranger map for your area, grab yourself a coffee and a highlighter pen and study the map and mark the rights of ways.

Or, next time you see these mud splattered Landies try and stop them and just ask if they can point any out to you or even if you can tag along one weekend.

Have fun!

Cheers..rather go out on my own and practice a bit before I go and make a complete cock of myself by sticking my landy in a ditch in front of some experienced off roaders. Obviously if you see a green station wagon on your travels in a ditch...thats me...give me a wave.

I know what you mean! But I think I would rather look a **** stuck in a ditch when I know I can get pulled back out!

If you do go it alone make sure you walk the track first, I got caught out once driving down a nice little byway, gently heading down hill into a V-Gully, no where to turn around and unable to reverse back out, had to keep going and found that the byway was half blocked by a cottage wall and a deep ditch! Took hours to bridge the ditch with some fence posts and creap forward then move the posts. Only had to go 50 yards!

Also pack some recovery kit. Spade, rope, shackels etc!

cheers.have already slid sideways down a hill and wedged myself between two trees..amazing..they were exactly the same distance apart as the length of my defender...
