none starter

anyone help please 4.0 1996 was getting hard to fire up sparadically? now wont start at all, no smell of fuel so have it in my head fuel pump gone??? had times not firing up but trying changed onto gas started then died turned back to petrol then started fine, now wont start at all, any advice please? oh matches and stand well clear not an option but thanks for the thought

try switching the lpg switch repeatedly to gas then petrol then gas the gas light should stay on, then start the car. if its fuel pump then it should still start on lpg!!

its easy to rule out the fuel pump ...run a direct live to your fuel pump and leave lpg switched off should hear the pump run as soon as you connect the live then it should start.... if this starts it id look into the fuel relays my disco 3.9 had 2 i dont know if the rr is the same... hope this helps arca

your lpg kit may be turning the fuel pump off, it shouldnt, but it depends on how its wired.

you can also check the pressure at the fuel rail.

if you look for the valve that looks like the ones on yer wheels, take any pressure out, then try starting car, it should be pressurised again, if it is then pump is fine. then you'd need to look towards injectors if its not putting fuel into the chambers. again the lpg kit could be turning these off!

if it runs on lpg as i said above then ignition side of things is ok.
