I have a problem with my Range Rover. I checked for the supposed access panels which give access to the inhibitor/reverse light switch (as said by haynes) The panels were'nt there. Whilst all the trim/gear stick knob/ window switching was removed the car ran! Everything has been put back where it came from with the exception of the handbrake switch (this isn't working) Now the car isn't running, it turns over attempts to fire but no joy. Could the handbrake switch be earthing out and causing the car not to start or wouldn't this have the effect ? Or could I have missed something like an earth wire or what?

I'm not sure, but underneath the cubby/armrest thing there is a blue and white wire leading to underneath the passenger seat. This wire has a plug on it around the cubby area and if it's disconnected the car WON'T start lol

Tada!
