non genuine part?

have just had to replace my waterpump but got garage to fit aftermarket one from jsf 40 quid compared to 160 for genuine only thing is im now hearing of stories of non gen ones only lasting few miles this true any experience with this would be very much appreciated?

I have had a non genuine water pump on my 4.6 for the last 3years without problems. In any case LR do not have a die casting facility so they buy them in-more than likely from the same manufacturer as the spurious are from. I always remember when I was a Machine Tool Service Engineer going to Adwest in Reading, they were supplying LR with steering boxes and at the same time packing identical items in spurious packaging.

enough said and hits the nail on the head mate its the same with almost all vehicle manufacturers most items are bought in .
