Noisy rear wiper...

Yup, that's what I have on my 1998 TDI Disco. It works fine but I barely use it due to the racket & wining it produces when in operation. Is there anything I can do to it to silence it or make it quieter or are they all like this? I have the back off my tailgate as I've just repaired my rear lock and I'd like to sort this other problem out before I pop it back on.

Is it the rubber or the mechanism? If it's the blade, you get what you pay for, get a Bosch one, mine's silent.

Noisy rear wiper motors are common on discos. I just live with it, but a second hand motor off ebay will fix it. Ask the seller if it's a quiet one before you bid

Turn it on and lube it from the outside, down the rotating shaft.
