Greeting all, I'm new to this forum and have some technical issues I need help with .. which is why I joined. Located in Victoria BC with an MOD 110 300Tdi.

The 300Tdi ran just as smooth and anything for a bit (I've not had the truck for long) and then the injectors started to get rattly/loud. Good pressure from the distributer pump, and no air from the lift pump past the filter. Does this sound like high pressure lines inducting air?

Cheers

Discomania,

Timing seems to be part of the issue. Found that last eve. Still have the overheating. Haven't checked for play on the crank shaft keyway with a wrench on the pulley. But adjusted the timing slightly to good effect.

Can slightly improper valve clearances cause overheating?

Improper clearences will cause damage as there is more of a slap, and puts the rods tappets under inscreased stress.

I suppose if the exahust/inlet valves were not opening properly, it could lead to overheating.
