Noise from Disco 3 Manual GearBox

Hello,
I have a 2006 Disco 3 TDV6 with a 6 speed Manual Gearbox.

Over the last few months it has developed a bearing noise, I guess from the GearBox, as follows:

Noise present when sitting in neutral.
Goes away when clutch pressed.
Engine speed related (Changes in pitch when driving).
Present in both high & low ratio.
Get a whispy / wyne noise when changing between gears.
Present when accelerating, not when decellerating (wheels driving engine).

Checked oil in box, it was low but can't see obvious leak (could be in bell housing).

Are there any known / common faults in these units.

Any one recommend a repair shop...North UK.

Nah that would make a noise when the clutch is depressed not the other way round, sounds like output bearing to me

i can recommend 4plus four in leeds they have just done my input seal on my disco 3 gearbox (auto)
