Hi all.

Hope you don't mind me asking a couple of questions in one on this thread.... Vehicle is 1997 300tdi 100 Defender

1. Fitted a 2" lift kit last year, fairly soon afterwards had a metallic noise appear. Sounds like a table spoon being run along school railings? It stops when the clutch is depressed and only happens in a specific speed range; about 15-45 mph I think. Have checked the yokes of the prop ujs to be on the safe side, no binding here. Has been mooted that it may be release bearing but the local LR expert seems to disagree, saying he can't figure out what it is?.....

2. Am after part number, description, ANYTHING to ID the hex washers that go onto a rear wheel carrier so as to allow the hanging of an alloy on the back..... :)

3. A fun one here, after carrying out a utility conversion, fitting new seats from Sam's Trim and having the chequerplate powder coated, am now looking to fit a Range Rover classic handbrake assembly in the space between the cubby box and drivers seat. Anyone done this?

Many thanks in advance and apologies if I sound like a numpty; they still used lead pipes for drinking water in the town where I grew up.. :)

Richard.

Deffo your front prop grinding... change it before it blows and takes out half the chassis and gearbox with it. people check i think by taking of the prop and driving the car in diff lock but ask about.
