Noise after changing gear

Hi all,

I have a series 2 and today it has started to give out a brief whine after changing into 2nd or 3rd gears, 1st and 4th are fine. It drives as it should and selects gear fine it just hasn’t done this before. It doesn’t happen every time I change into 2nd and 3rd but it seems to be getting progressively regular. I haven’t had chance to to check the oil yet as I’m busy for the evening, could it be as simple as that? The gearbox was rebuilt only last year.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Well let's hope it is as easy as topping up the oil - checking the level seems to me like a fine plan...

Second that and regular checks too, apart from leaking oil , oil migrates from one box to the other on mine

its not the queue of traffic behind you applauding is it

i have several noises i am investigating but have no idea what they could be.
