No Servo Vacum 2.2 diesel series3 88

Anyone any ideas how to resolve problem of Hard brake pedal. Just had my series 3 Mot'd and although passed it was noticed that brake pedal was hard and although the servo appeared to be working there seemed to be no vacum reaching the servo unit.

All the hoses connected and appear sound.

SERIES diesel engines +servo had a flap in the inlet manifold which closed on the overun which created the vaccum but it had to be ajusted right otherwise you got nothing except the symtons you described........hope this helps....dave

as dave says, i had this problem make sure the hand throttle is backed right off and not used to control idel speed, the flap should be closed at idle

s111 will have a pump in the block, they sufer from broken vanes, take the three bolts off and have a look

Rubbish. Series motors never had a pump, relied in inlet manifold vacuum.
If yours has a pump it isn't an original Series engine.
