No pressure out of bleed nipple

Tried to bleed the rear drums on the 110 today and the nearside wont give any pressure out when the bleed nipple is released. I have a weep of fluid coming out but not enough to force the fluid and bubbles down into the jar.
The off side bled perfect with just a few bubbles and lots of fluid but the nearside would not work propper even with over a full turn of the bleed screw.
The cylinder is working cause I've had the drum off and watched the pistons pushing the shoes so that's Ok, it's just that the bleed nipple seems blocked.
I'll take the screw right out on Monday and blow it through but any other ideas please.

While it's still in place, get a small drill bit (2mm or whatever fits the bleed nipple, hold it with a pair of mole grips and clean the rust out of the main hole, chances are that's where it's blocked.

nice one, your probably right, never thought of rust I never let my brakes get this bad but tis how I bought it, ta muchly

Dont worry about this.

The worst is you need a new clean bleed nipple.

Get a brake hose CLAMP - (that doesn't mean a Mole wrench!) and clamp the flex pipe to that wheel. Oh Go on, use a Mole wrench then ..... but carefully or you'll cut the hose.

Now take the bleed nipple right out, and clean it with a small drill bit. Make sure the small cross-drilled hole near the bottom is also clear. Use copper grease on the threads when you put it back. Now it will bleed as you wish as long as you remember to release the Mole wrench on the flex pipe

Good advice there, and the mole grips are Ok as long as you remember that the pipe you are restricting is only small in the middle so minimal clamping is required to close it off. Some people squeeze the pipe too much and weaken it, you then later get a slight ballooning of the rubber hose as you brake which gives the impression of air in the system via a soft pedal.
Will clear the bleeder out tomorrow or maybe get some new ones if I have the time when I get me new bleedin brake linings, or should I say brake shoes?

I've recently had this on an old BMW - I completely stripped and re-conditioned the callipers, new bleed nipples etc (they are only pennies from a motor factors so its not worth struggling with old ones) and it still wouldn't bleed.

Turns out that the flexi hose had broken down inside and blocked it, Neither is a huge job but might be worth trying if the new nipples don't help.

Only thing I would say is that if the bleed nipple is released and there is a lot of pressure in the calliper but nipple blocked, I would have thought you'd get a lot of weeping around the nipple base. Good excuse to get some shiny teflon / stainless overbraid ones anyway!

Make sure the brake shoes are adjusted properly, because if the shoes are not pushing against the drum there will be no presure.

shoes were adjusted and as said , weeping from round base of bleed nipple so will see to it.
went for new nipples yesterday but they were out of stock how does that happen with computers in charge? When we had a bloke behind the counter in a brown smock and a pencil behind his ear, he knew exactly which dusty shelf your part was on, how many were left and whether it would fit your Land Rover or not, what happened

I'll bodge it for now and get some new nipples later when the summer stock arrives
