No owners manual

Hi out there, New to all this, well i have a 1996 R/Rover and yes i have had trouble already with the EAS, but hopefully now its fixed all will be well. Anyway i dont have the owners manual and im bothered as to why these wagons have two hi and low on the heater controls, Stupid question i know but thought i would just ask ? cheers
