No acceleration from start

Hi. I have just joined the Landyzone, nice to meet you all. I run a discovery TD5XS W reg 2.5. I have a problem.The problem is that when i start it their is no acceleration for about 20 seconds then you here the engine revs pick up. The engine starts OK but no revs, any one out
their have any ideas.

So it fires up fine from a cold start?

You stand on the GO pedal and nothing happens for 20 seconds?

Or is it just sluggish off a cold start?

All TD5 engines are sluggish off the start. It is supposed to reduce pollution ...

It makes them so bad starting off with a heavy trailer on that the handbook says to drive away in LOW RANGE, and change to High range on the move!

You can imagine the noises the transfer box makes when the horsey ladies are doing that.

The engine fires up no problem but just tick over until roughly 20 second and away she goes. as you say a bit slugish until the turbo kick in. any Ideas.
