Hello guys, I have two 2.8TD6 Nissan Patrol engines and gearboxes available.
Can these engines be put into a 110 chassis?
Has anyone on here done it?
Does anyone know of anyone who can do it?
Based in N. Ireland but happy to get a donor 110 and have it done on the mainland.
Thanks in advance.

I drove a 110 years ago with 2.8 Nissan not very good from memory low end torque poor and noisy at speed. I think it was running Nissan box with modified propshafts but don't quote me. May be worth looking at some of the Australian landy forums as some of those guys love changing engines for jap crap.

At last.....a response!
Thanks for that Adrian.....I think it's fair to assume that not many people have done it due to virtually no responses to my original post.
I have a lwb Patrol which is fixable and a swb one with a rotten chassis. Both have TD6 diesels in them so I will just get rid of the short one.
Just thought that one of the engines could be put into a 110 engine compartment as both of the engines are running really well and it would be a shame not to see one of them being put to a better use.

Anything is possible with time and money. Suspect you will spend more money fitting them than just going for a Tdi or Td5 engine though.

Don’t know the specs or performance of the Nissan engines. But I’d question if it was a worthwhile adventure.

Looks a waste of time, only Nissan engine worth bothering with is the RB26DETT

These engines appear to be less good than a 300TDI or a TD5, a TD5 with mild remap would be a much better choice, find them in rusty chassis Discovery 2s

methinks you have it in one MJI and undoubtedly much easier to get parts, Cut the good Patrol chassis down and build yerself an unusual offroader

Thanks for the responses.
I think I will just find a donor Patrol to put one of the engines in come the time........sounds like pouring money into hammering the square peg into the round hole doesn't make sense.
I have done 100k miles on one of the engines which still runs sweet and the only thing done was replacing the clutch so I have no worries re reliability.
The vehicle is only for road use and occasional towing so no grinders necessary.......except to cut away the rust.
