OK. here we go ! Has anyone used nissan patrol axles on a land rover 110 chassis ? the reason i ask is i got a 1996 4.2 petrol/lpg lwb patrol which the rust bugs have attacked :( and i was wondering if it would be possible to use the axles and maybe the engine/gearbox in a new galv chassis ? i know this would be major project but it's a shame to scrap a motor which has only done 115 k from new with full service history ! any ideas ???:)

Yes you would need some modifications to the spring and shock mounts, the radius / trailing arms, and for the axles, you would of course need to use transfer box / props from the patrol along with the engine. Don't think you can mix and match but with a LOT of work the patrol drivetrain should be transferrable into the 110 chassis. I recon it'l take a while :D. Keep us posted :)

I agree it's a major job for me ! but i think the end result could be good :D iv'e got to put a lot of thought into it and get some helping hands ! :)

The diff on the rear axle is in the center, not offset to the right like landcruiser and landrover axles , wont be aproblem on a 110 as the prop is long enough for it not to be a problem.
Its quite a simple conversion for someone with reasonable fab skills and well worth it as in my opinion(and others) the patrol axle is stronger than a dana60 or 101 salisbury and on par with a ford9"

Might as well fit mog axles…...

Pah, if youve got a 3K sitting around for a good pair. ;)

Regards the patrol axles. Its been done, few challenge trucks have the conversion. I bought my ARB's from a guy who was putting patrol axles on his 90(hence the sale of the lockers to me) he was using them because the dana axle is stronger as pressbrake pointed out. also the rear axle is a locker as standard :)

The guy was putting a lexus diesel in it although i cant remember which one, was using the transfer and gear box with an adaptor for the lexus engine

Im sure ive read someones conversion on another forum aswell.
