Hi again guys
previouse thread on the popping adjusted tappets. but every time i do then get it running and it takes some turning over but eventually gets there. I then recheck tappets and number 4 is tighter so I then readjust. It seems to keep changing. question is do I strip off and recheck timing belt or go straight for the head removal in case one of the brass plates are cracked but would all this cause the popping. totaly confused now thinking sod it and leave it on the draive untill i can afford a 200 tdi conversion. getting all sorts of info from mates but what I could realy do with is someone looking or listening to it and saying thats def what it is do that. asked at my local indi and they will take it in (of course they will) but then I am paying for pottentially wasted time and if the engine gone then all wasted money. getting desperate now cos I am missing all the good off roading weather at the mo. any ideas please?
