Good morning all, I'm looking for a bit of advice if you don't mind.
I'm looking for a "Project" Defender 90 as a do-er-upper with my 19 year old son, which he wants to Bling up with Matt paint, bucket seats etc etc, the whole 9 yards.

I have a budget of up to about £10k to buy the vehicle, and would really appreciate any help on the best model / engine to go for, I am not particularly interested in the "traditionalist" point of view, more which is the nicest, easiest most reliable and quietest engine / model ??
and indeed, which will hold / increase in value ?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hippo, thanks for the reply, but no, it's the look and hertiage of the Defender that I want, and the fact that it might actually increase in value if renovated correctly.
