Morning all, first disco so I’m a total novice although have an extensive mechanically background. I’ve just picked up a free disco 2 2001 project. That needs a new clutch, the ace removed and a few bits like bumper etc.
So firstly what exactly do I need to replace the ace with? ( from blanking plates - 2 inch lift kit components) do I need to change arms etc?
secondly are the branded clutches that much better? As with a full dual mass Kit the costs start to rise considerable.
And finally is their any where except eBay at £254 to buy a winch bumper from?

Regards Mark ( an sorry for the newby questions) .

I don't know anything about them but I believe the rear chassis rots out for fun.
Have a good look at that before spending any money on it.

As at least a temporary measure you can lock the ACE, usually, but obvs we don't know what state it is in at the mo. But in the end, if you want to remove it, you'll be forced to fit standard AR bars. If anay bits of it are working then you could flog them off as they ain't cheap. There will be others who'll come on here asking why you want to remove it, as they think it is the best thing since sliced bread! (You could just replace the shocks with good gas ones and do the bars, especially if you aint going off road.)
Don't know about the rest.
But there are tons of things you should "look at" which have umpteen threads on them on here. Exhaust manifold is one of the first which I wish someone had warned me about!
Anyway, wlecome to the forum!:)
