Hi, I am completely new to this thread, being an old diver my handle is Bubblehead07 and I have had Series 2A and 3 all my life. My last landy was a TDi until it bit the dust a couple of months ago.
Being impressed with my son's TD5 I decided to buy one, I have had it 3 weeks and I have fell in love with it, in fact I may get a divorce and marry it.
When I bought it it had a problem with the engine, fuel oil is getting into the sump and the lube oil level is rising. I thought that it would be the injectors so I took a chance and bought it, I got my local garage to do put new seals on the injectors but it didn't work, I am still getting the lube oil level increasing.
Anyone got any ideas please? Do they have a fuel lift pump on the engine?

The injectors have a fire (copper) seal on the tip and then further up is an oring that seals the returning fuel inside the cyl head cavity. These flatten and diesel is allowed to leak into the engine. If done already there could be a knicked oring on reassembly. On the d2 td5 the intank fuel pump has a looped effect to push the fuel forward. The fuel régulateur on the rear of the head (drivers side uk) can leak fuel as well. A full kit and gaskets are available. I just did this on a d2 but the new fuel pipe in the kit had the wrong size Orings in it.... Allmakes:rolleyes: failing that there could be a crack in the fuel circuit in the head!!!!

Hi All,

Just been to the garage who is looking at my TD5 with fuel oil mixing with the lube oil,
and the bad news is the the head has a crack in it.
So my next question is, has anyone on the LANDYZONE got a cylinder head for a TD5
that they are selling?
The mech told me that you can't see the crack so you take a chance buying one, but I
am sure we have nothing but honest owners on these forums.
