Just a quick hello, i have a series 2 and live about 10 minutes from whaddon, hoping to take it there for the first time this Sunday to see how long it takes to get stuck in the mud!

Any tips for a beginner going off road for pretty much the first time?

hey mate, you will be in good company, there are alot of us usually down there on sundays. this sunday will most likely be the first sunday i will have missed in 4 events there but theres always someone down there!

asfor beginner - speak to someone experienced that knows the area, follow them around, get a feel for your vehicle, etc!

Hi, Welcome chap. Re off roading, my view, I would say park up when you get there and have look around before you go mad. I agree with carpy to an extent, watch what the more experienced are up to but dont think you can do it cos they can. Final point, dont trust folks re towing out or being towed, there are some fu$%£rs out there that damage LR's as a hobbie. Having said all that tosh...part of the fun is getting it all wrong and getting dragged out, so enjoy

Thanks for the advice, will go have a look at what's going on at whaddon on sunday and try to stay out of too much trouble!
