Hi I have just joined the zone, I own and drive a Disco2, 2003 Special ( no sun roofs so it does not matter if it rains )
I am not sure if this is the right place to post this.
I have persuaded my son to buy a twin cab Defender 2010 plate,
It was stolen but thanks to tracker was quickly recovered during first lockdown, a claim was made for 7.5 k, insurance paid out.
However now it is having turbo problems, three in three months
the garage gave him 4 options
1 Insurance claim ??
2 Fit another turbo hope for the best
3 Fit another turbo and sell car
4 Fit new engine
He was incensed by option 3, I have taken it to another, recommended garage in Essex, that I have used, having found several problems blocked oil pipes , injector copper seals , it still managed to blow the turbo fitted by original garage, So now they have installed another new turbo, my suspicions is original garage fitted service kits rather than complete Turbos possibly incorrectly. I would appreciate any advice, as he has lost faith in the car, although he will never part with it, considering putting into storage.
