Hi there, just bought my first Landy! An ex-RAF 90 soft top. It's on a 91 plate. Have sent off e-mails to the RAF/Royal Logisitic Corp to try and find out it's history. It seems to be a cracker. Having said that it developed a leak out the diesel tank so just spent the last 2 days forcing the old one out and fitting the new tank (removing the door sill was a eureka moment!). I'm planning to change the oil/fuel/air filters myself. Any advice on other servicing jobs to look at would be appreciated. She seems to start and run fine. After the fuel tank change, opened the bleed nut on the fuel filter and pumped the handle to prime it but nowt came out, so tried turning it over and she started 1st time, fuel bubbling out, so sealed the nut tight. Seems ok.
Some of the olive drab is a bit faded so gonna get a tin/spray can from marcus glenn and do it myself. Planning on using just one of those paint pads as well as the spray can for awkward corners. The front offside corner has a wee dint. Any advice on knocking it out?
Loving bombing around in it and driving something with a whole load of character as opposed to shiny modern boxes.

Welcome mate.

Thank F. Someone who has bought a Defender. Was getting tired of having to slate the overenthusiastic Gaylander new owners and bring them down a peg or two.

It's tough you know.

Cheers Gents. After much trawling of t'internet I found her on ebay for a buy now price of £3400. Did the deal, got the train down and collected her and been in love ever since! Great to be able to get yer hands mucky working on something rather than having to plug into a laptop!

Cheers guys. Spent a happy sunny afternoon yesterday changing the oil and filter. Stuck some of that diesel cleaning stuff in first to flush it out. Also changed the air filter. Fuel is next on list along with coolant. About to order some satin olive drab to give it a fresh coat of paint, any tips?
