Hi and welcome. When I was looking for my p38 I had a list of what I wanted. Had to be the 4.0l, still on air bags. As in my mind that was what it was designed for, and putting coils on realy spoilt the idea. I hve a friend who has a DHSE, he had 2, one on coils, and hated it, so got one with air bags, and loves it. Everyone will have their own opnion, so take in everything you can. Touch wood mine is ok at moment, but under no illusions, that something will go wrong.

christ just read it and wow i think ill stick with my evo lol
how good will a service history be on a p38 is it worth the paper its stamped on

To be honest I got my own stamp. I do do a complete service when I do them, and stamp my book. But have known people to "borrow" a stamp from a stealer and stamp their books up to make it look good. If in doubt ring the places on the stamps. They should have some form of record of the motor. Especially if they a main dealer. My firm do their own servicing, so none of the vans have service stamps when they are sold off at 4 or 5 years old. sevice book sitting in glovebox of mine, never been out. But this is in agreement with ford/vauxhall as they have 100's of vans.

had a mate he had his own garage, as a side line he used to photo copy reciepts of gear he bought and sell them to local car sales, no service hist on car but we have reciepts of wats been done??The only garentee you have is the logged records at dealer for the car.Saying that mine was a nightmare because its been on private plates most of it's life.Plus when first insured it they got reg wrong still have probs with that as well:doh:
