Hi there, I've just bought the pictured van from eBay and am picking it up on Sunday, it's a bit of a step up from my WideBoy Vitara!
I started looking through various LR forums and liked the look of this one!
There are quite big long-term plans for the Disco but to start with I'll just be sorting out any annoying bits I don't like.
Am I right in thinking it's a Disco 2?
I'm reasonably competent with most car bits, I work as a Marine Engineer and have recently been messing around with cars.
Anyway, just thought I'd make myself known,
Cheers, Max

It's a 300 Series. 3 door possibly a commercial . 2 front seats hinge forward. Low spec but less to go wrong i think.............

Just say 300Tdi as the series 1 etc stuff is a bit ambiguous so there 's a 200/300/TD5/ Nice new one. 200 and 300 bit s can vary considerably especially trim and engine bits

Nice!,
I got one myself in August, really into it.
Disco 1 300 tdi is what i classify it as when buying new parts.
It is a face lift of the original pre '94 upto an L plate disco 1,(seperate larger lamps and front grill. in contrast to all in one grill and lamp facia with smaller lamps,( and also with rear indicators mounted in rear bumper)) not sure at which point the engine change came into play, but they are as stated b4 different beasts.
For some interior items and auxillary bits such as bottle jack, rear sideway seats, bonnet soundproofing i have pillaged disco 1 200 tdi's at breakers yard, but I steer clear of any engine components.
Have Fun, 's good choice you've made IMO;)http://www.landyzone.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=11365&size=big&cat=&ppuser=20845
