Morning Guys and Gals,

Just want to intorduce my self to the forum, My name is Alistair but most people call me Stretch. I have a 2001 TD4, spends most of its life up an down the motorway between North Wales and Banbury but when the snow falls or the chance for a bit of a play on the mountain's off we go!

Here's a short video from a trip out on boxing day in north wales, the fella in the discovery wouldn't believe the Freelander would cope! I have another video wich i will upload later from some muddy sections.

Hi Stretch,

Hello and :welcome2:

As you're new, I'll be very gentle - others on here may not be.

Oh dear - I think you may have mistaken 'Off the Asphalt or Tarmac' for 'Off-Road' - I watched your vid and was waiting for you to turn off the road.

Nice trip up the hill, but I thought / hoped we were going to come to the end of the road - OK I'll call it a track if you like - and then keep going.

Some folks will possibly make fun of your vid - I'm not - just I would encourage you to go much further and you will find that the limits of your Freelander lie much, much, further up the hill - probably at the very top.

Please don't be put off by my comments - a very friendly first post, thanks for joining the forum.

Regards, Singvogel. :D

Yeah yeah, i was waiting for the ridicule!!! i appreciate it's not the most technical of route's but as a somewhat novice to this, slow an steady, one step at a time etc etc! I will upload another video later, which actually has some mud and a river crossing don't get too excited!!!

Hey - that was not ridicule - certainly I didn't mean it like that at all - good for you, mate - many Freelanders never go anywhere where there are no yellow lines at the side of the road.

Just wait till the tratter boys finish feeding their pigs - or whatever it is they do with them!!!

Another Clip, showing the River (stream) crossing and some actual mud! lol

Sorry to dissapoint, but give me a break i'm new to this! lol if you notice i did put stream in brackets it was the disco owner who called it a river crossing! :p

No offence taken pal, last video is just uploading. My TD4 has just clocked 150k on the original clutch an flywheel! yes its tired, yes it needs some tlc and yes i have even considered selling it, but there is nothing i'd replace it with, the last six months have started showing problems which i am sure most freelanders have had, but its nothing that isn't fixable with a little patience and some basic knowhow.

Nice video. Well all has to learn. Always good to see Disco's taking Freelanders orf road wiv em. Well we all need to take a recovery buddy wiv us un the disco driver obviously has faith.

From yer loaction yer might like to have a look at Bala Off Road they does orf roading days. £25 to get in un drive all over their site. Be careful not to scare the sheep. Vid's on you tube for yer to see whats there.

ok, so here is the last vid, i won't take offence if yiu get bored of watching! lol
