Hi there is there anybody out there who can tell me what the small pipe is that comes out beneath the nearside front bumper which appears to act like a small exhaust Freelander TD4 SE 2004.

It proves that your car is equipped with the FBH (do a search) (Fuel Burning Heater), a Webasto equipment which helps to warm up faster the coolingwater of the car, normally starts automatically when outside temp. is below 5°C and stops when cooling water reaches (I think) some 80 °C or outside temperature raises above 5°C. At shut down it can cause a lot of smoke and odor when it happens inside the garage.:D:D (At start up it might sound as you just ran over a couple of cats in heat).;)
