Hello there, came across this site whilst looking for ways to fix problems on a series 3 my first venture into the world off land rovers and the associated dealings with paddock spares (think i should just get my wages paid straight to them .Well the series 3 safari i purchased on ebay and looking back paid to much for it but anyhow you only live once and ive grown quite attached to it (along with paddock spares. The pitfalls of purchasing soon became apparent when temp issues started to occur once the spring arrived ,(3 miles up the road and boiling water spraying into the cab quick exit out the back door bribed the kids not to tell mum and started to investigate heater matrix shot thermos shot and rad shot £200 to start with emm game on,,,think the previous owner sold in the winter months to cover this (good tip if the rad shot on the beast and you want to get shot of it wait till the winter.so happy days but the fire extinqusher still stayed in cab tenner from tescos (best ten pounds spent and it wasnt even frompaddock ) running great for about a month then the outlet manifold falls out with the exhaust emm the noise wife asked if it should sound like this just nodded and used sign language to communicate so another £50 and the manifold didnt even match up with inlet so £20 on a set of files off we go blokes at work remarked on how smokey the compound became whilst starting up em a little to rich so £100 quid on a webber and KN does run better now ohh dipped headlights dont work any more (any one know where the relay is for these and since fitting a new exhaust slight backfire when you come off the gas any ideas ,,,,apart from that and its thirst for petrol what a great truck

T'aint no relays for the headlights - it's probably the main/dip switch is faulty. You can clean and retension the contacts easily enough by taking off the steering wheel shroud but they aint that dear to replace. Or it could be a corroded bullet connector joiner probably somewhere under the wing or behind the radiator panel (you might have disturbed this replacing the rad) it's the blue wire with the red tracer.

Are your 'return', 'comma' and 'full stop' buttons broken, friend?:rolleyes:

I get really wound up by errors in punctuation (I've got a copy of "Eats, Shoots and Leaves") but not using any at all is probably better than getting it wrong!
There are many to whom basic literacy is a struggle, let alone proper punctuation. Anyone brave enough to write things in a public forum read by picky bastards like me deserves at least a little respect.

Sounds like a very similar experience to my own... I too am new to all this

I've found the guys (and there are also a few gals) on here extremely helpful; even if most of them are a bunch of light hearted **** takers... so take your life in your hands when you ask a question, but look forward to some very helpful responses

Welcome on board the good ship Landyzone
