Hi
Apologies if these questions are answered elsewhere but I couldn't seem to find them when I searched.
Brand new to the forum and looking at buying a Defender in the next couple of months.
It will be used as my main car and for the occasional towing of a caravan. Although I do intend to take it off road, for some fun and sport.
I intend to spend between £11,000 - £15,000 but may spend more if neccessary. There is only me and Mrs so no need for extra seats for kids etc.
Now the questions!
Is it worth spending extra for the new 2.4 Duratorque? As the car will be used on-road everyday, is the 6spd box useful on the road?
Can you get decent detachable winches, or are standard winches simple enough to remove and fit as required?
Is the investment in an extra set of wheels a good idea? Same thoughts as the winch, only put mud tyres on when I actually need.
Is underbody protection a no-brainer? It doesn't seem to cost that much and looks easy to fit.
I know theres a lot of questions but I hope you can help.
Many thanks
