Hi

I have a general appreciation for vehicles but limited knowledge of land rovers. My 14 year old son ( yes 14) is desperate for a defender and has started saving for his own at quite a rate. He prefers a 110, I am looking to understand what modifications you can do body wise. I.e, what can we buy as a starting vehicle? Ideally he wants a 110 with can rear and bench, where can we start? Can we convert a pickup? Or mod vehicle?

Cheers

John

Blimey fair play to him. At least you can guarantee that he won't have a drug addiction, he won't be able to afford one owning a Land Rover!

Buy one for him now so he owes you because by the time he's 17 they'll possibly be out of his reach.............. I'd suggest an early 110 rather than Defender, [I'm biased as that's what I've got] but prices are still [relatively] low on 110's - good luck,
ps. yes truck can be hard top and visa versa but CSW's [five door station wagons] are fixed. Good luck

Welcome to the forum both of you.

You might want to look at insurance prices before you start bunging seats in the back as it will effect his premiums. Look on a tratter as a mechano kit as everything bolts on and off and just about anything is doable.
