Hi,
Recently purchased my first discovery td5..it's a 2002 with 120k on it....sorted most of the niggles, sunroofs leaking, powered steering pipes weeping plus a few more issues. The big problem I have now is diesel in the header tank!..Have changed the diesel cooler and upgraded the seals but still getting about 1/2 ltr of diesel in header tank.It was blowing hoses due to (I think) the extra diesel in the coolant over pressurising the system.Ive found that loosing the cap prevents this from happening and the wife who's vehicle it is has driven it like this for the last two months..needless to say need to get it sorted!..Anybody any suggestions?...is there any other way diesel can get into coolant apart from a crack in the fuel rail in the cylinder head or is it a replacement head?.. Thanks in anticipation.
