hello, I am new to landy ownership, having just purcahsed an ex MOD series 3. I checked b4 i purchased, but since getting it home have noticed some rot on the passenger side outrigger under the bulkhead (not sure of the correct name for it). Anyway it looks like it has cracked / rotted along the bottom edge on both sides (front and back). Is this a big job to repair or replace, I have no welding experience or kit, does anyone have an idea of how much it would cost to have it professionally done? Also is it safe to drive, presumably this supports the bulkhead? It wasn't picked up by the MOT in April.

The rest of the chassis seems fine, with just the odd area of surface looking rust.

Also there seems to be a small oil leak from the gearbox region, not sure if this is a major problem though. Hopefully I can just top it up every so often.

Enjoying the experience so far, but a bit worried that I have made a bad purchase.

Outrigger isn't a hooj job nor should it be too pricey (even cheaper if you learn to weld). As for oil leak, all series Landys are incontinent, don't be overly concerned.

Regards WP.
